mabad: THF, Pakistan and Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. This programme is for studious and under privileged students and the HEC will implement this programme. Besides, the OGDCL will fund vocational training programme at THF for 69 students of District Hyderabad, Sanghar, Ghotki & Tando Allahyar to provide vocational training of International standards at Vocational Institute located in Rashidabad, Tando Allahyar. OGDCL will provide Rs141 million for this programme with HEC and THF.
Mr. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources was the chief guest of the MoU signing ceremony attended by Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman HEC, Dr. Arshad Ali, Executive Director HEC, Mr. Zahid Mir, Managing Director OGDCL and Ms. Jaffer, Board of Trustees THF along with Yahya Hussain, Deputy Manager Resource Mobilization Department.
Earlier in his welcome address, Mr. Zahid Mir highlighted the salient features of the scholarship programme. He said the OGDCL planned to spend one percent of their pretax profit on their CSR initiatives. He also mentioned the organisation’s scholarship programme last year which produced a great results, hoping that the current programme will also be of great weight and substance.
