Aslam Khaliq is presently serving as Chairman & acting CEO of The Hunar Foundation. He was former chairman and adviser of Pakistan Tobacco Company Ltd, a subsidiary of British American Tobacco Company which employees over a 100,000 people with operations in around 180 countries and is market leader in more than 50 countries selling over 300 brands.
He is also presently the Chairman of Reckitt Benckiser (Pakistan) Ltd & Chairman of CHAL Foundation (Not for Profit NGO), besides being on the Board of Governors of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) & PIA Investments.
He has served on the Boards of Oil & Gas Development Company Ltd, National Data and Registration Authority (NADRA) GOP, Islamabad Stock Exchange, Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission Bio-Sciences (Pvt.) Ltd & Pakistan International Airline (PIA).
He is the Honorary Council General of Bulgaria in Pakistan. He has also served as member of the Board of Governors of Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture, Karachi, National Vocational and Training Commission and Intellectual Property Organization, Government of Pakistan.

Mehdi holds BE in Engineering and dual MBA in Operations Management and Finance (PA-USA). He is a Certified Black-Belt for Six-Sigma Quality and Lean and a Lead Auditor for ISO/TS Standards.
Mr. Abdul Majeed Motiwala has done his Chartered Accountancy from A.F. Ferguson & Co. (a member firm of Price Water House) Karachi, he has served Ernst & Young at E&Y Middle East Head Office as Audit Manager and also with British Cables Co. He has spent 23 years with Pfizer Pakistan Ltd. ( which is a merged company of Pfizer Laboratories Ltd, Park Davis Co Ltd and Pharmacia Ltd ) where he enjoyed various positions including Director Finance for 10 years, HR Director and Marketing Director. Before his retirement, he was elevated to the position of Chairman, Managing Director and CEO of Pfizer Pakistan Limited and Wyeth Pakistan Limited. At present, he is holding a position of Vice President Social Welfare Department at Al-Huda International Welfare Foundation.He is alumni of Harvard School of Management, Stanford University and University of Indiana- USA.
Rear Admiral Azhar Hussain (R) served Pakistan Navy as an Engineer for over 37 years and attained the coveted jobs of Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Materials) in Naval Headquarters and Director General (MP) in Ministry of Defence . He also served as Managing Director of Naval Dockyard and MD of Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works. He did his Post Graduation in Marine Engineering and Engineering Management Course from Royal Navy Engineering College, Plymouth, UK, and MSc in Defence & Strategic Studies from National Defence College, Islamabad.
He was awarded Sitara e Imtiaz (M) and Hilal e Imtiaz (M) by the President of Pakistan for his distinguished services in the Navy.
He joined THF at the time of its inception in 2009 as Chief Operating Officer and currently serves as Director Projects looking after Projects of setting up of Vocational Training Institutes across Pakistan. He played major role in establishing and setting up of Vocational Training Institutes at Rashidabad (Tando Allahyar), Bedian (Lahore), Multan and Kharian. He also has a penchant for re-engineering and has been the main proponent for setting up a ‘Training Aids Production Unit’ at the Foundation which manufactures and supplies various types of training aids to numerous vocational training institutes for practical hands on training of the students.
Mr. Nabeel Zafar, Deputy General Manager is among the core management team of THF having manufacturing, building and infrastructure development experience. His versatile career spans over a decade with strong technical, research & development accomplishments in various operational, engineering design, manufacturing and management capacities. He is a seasoned expert and renowned commercial CAD/CAM professional, holding degrees in the industrial and manufacturing engineering, masters of engineering management with specialization in quality and a another master’s degree in automotive manufacturing. Having diversified experience in the field of engineering and manufacturing management i.e. computer aided design and manufacturing, reverse engineering, tools, dies and moulds development, building, infrastructure and layouts development, MIS / ERP / MRP/ SIS design and deployment along with quality system procedure development and implementation etc. His work has been appreciated and encouraged by numerous foreign specialists and professors.
Ayesha Haq is responsible for overseeing the effective management of Hunar’s Resource Management & Development and Brand Marketing.
Ayesha brings a rich experience of 16 years of Canadian study and work experience in the field of Management, Donor stewardship, Fundraising and Strategic Planning for the Non-Profit Sector, with a track record of orchestrating innovations that generate high impact results. She also carries management and marketing experience in the estate and facilities development industry
Ayesha is passionate about engaging people on behalf of the world’s most vulnerable individuals and is a strong advocate of empowering those living in poverty with sustainable opportunities for improved livelihood. Driven by this compassion Ayesha has worked for and served on the Board of Canadian non-profit organizations. Furthermore, she was also the President for Developments in Literacy Toronto (DIL Toronto) for 4 years during which time she spearheaded the overall direction, management, fundraising strategy and creative vision that lead to the growth and reach of the organization in Toronto.
Air Commodore (Retd) Nasir brings with him rich work experience of 31 years in in the field of management, electronics and administration. He during his tenure with PAF has served as Instructor at PAF Academy Risalpur and various Training Institutes of PAF. Besides serving at various staff and senior command appointments in PAF, he has also served as Director Technical in Civil Aviation Authority Pakistan. Air Cdre Nasir holds a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Electronics Engineering from College of Aeronautical Engineering, and Master degree in Information technology. He is a Graduate of PAF Air War College and a recipient of Sitar-i-Imtiaz Military.
Mr. Zahid-ul-Islam brings with him rich experience of 37 years at corporate level in Manufacturing, Production, Purchasing and Supply Chain in Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited followed by rendering services as Managing Partner at Pathways, Director at Bushra Trading International, Director Supply Chain at Haidri Beverages Pvt. Ltd, and General Manager Supply Chain at Panther Tyres Limited. Mr. Zahid holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with specialization in Mechanical from NED University, Karachi.
Arif Rahman brings with him experience of over 18 years in the field of Marketing and Sales with wide and successful Senior Management experience of FMCG, Electrical Appliances and Below the Line (BTL) Activation. He has served with both leading multinational and local organizations namely Johnson & Johnson Pakistan, Dawlance Private Limited, HELIUM and Nabi Qasim Group. Mr. Rahman worked with J&J Consumer for 14 years and last held position of Marketing Manager. Serving later as Executive Vice President Marketing at Dawlance, he was responsible for strategy and execution across specific functions of retail marketing. Mr. Rahman also worked as Account Director at Helium Pvt. Ltd; heading the consumer engagement team handling P&G, Nestle, Dalda and other leading brands. As Senior Marketing Manager at Nabi Qasim Group, he ventured into Channel Development of Modern Trade along with other Marketing responsibilities. Mr. Rahman holds BBA and MBA in Marketing from Hamdard University.
Mr. Muhammad Ali Siddiqui, completed his intermediate education from DJ Government Science College and Diploma Associate Engineering from Swedish Pakistani Institute Karachi. His career compiles of services in various industries from Pakistan Machine Tool Factory to Shipyard and Engineering works. After competing Public Service Commission, he served in Government of Sindh Labor Department, Directorate of Manpower and Training later on STEVTA, at different positions as Principal of Technical Training Centers in Sindh, Deputy Director in Plant Training, Secretary Trade Testing Board and Chief Staff Trainer at Staff Training Institute Sindh. Mr. Ali served as consultant and 1st Principal of Karigar Training Institute, Consultant and 1st Principal of Rozgar Training Institute for Handicaps and participated in the establishment of Pilot Project of The Hunar Foundation where he also served as the 1st Principal of DMS Technical Institute in the year 2009 and continues to do so till now.
Mr. Asad Ali Khan has more than twenty years experience of training, human resource management, sales and marketing, maintenance and operations of sensitive electronic systems on the inventory of PAF. He has served as Chief Administrator in SSVTI in Technical and Vocational Education (TVET) sector of KPK Pakistan. He has been deputed as Production Control Officer at PAC Kamra coordinate with Engineering universities and Colleges, Human resource management and training of technicians working in PAC, Marketing of PAC products in international and domestic markets, Production planning of aviation products, and commercial ventures.
Being the Principal of The Women Vocational Institute she brings in prolific work experience of over 13 years in the Education, Management and Administrative field and blends in the Fashion Industry with ease for she has been closely associated with the related industry for over 10 years. During her incumbency in the well known schooling systems, she worked as the Campus In charge. She has a brief experience of working as a Students Counselor in the Greenwich University for rich number of years.
Ishfaque Ali brings with him rich work experience of 25 years in in the field of management, electronics and administration. Prior to joining Hunar he has served in key positions and across the country in the Pakistan Army. A qualified post Graduate in Computer Science from BZU Multan along with Bachelor Degree in Telecommunication (Electrical) from NUST Islamabad, Lt. Col. Ishfaque also has experience of managing various projects including management and coordination of Multan Technical Education Centre.
Mr. Haresh Kumar Khatri’s career encompasses 20 years of experience in Education System Development and Management followed by numerous trainings and internships. He served various renowned organizations like Saint Patrick’s Institute of Science and Technology as Vice Principal, AMANTECH as Head of Academics/Manufacturing & Construction Sectors, in WAPDA as Protection and Instrumentation Engineer and also shared expertise by providing consultancy services in TEVT sector. Mr. Khatri holds bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, from M.U. E.T. Jamshoro, and also qualified an IVQ Diploma in Electrical Engineering and Teachers Training from City & Guilds UK. He has worked as Assessment Manager, External Verifier, Internal Verifier and Master Trainer in Vocational Training for City & Guilds U.K. and as Head Examiner, External, Institute Inspection Officer, Paper Setter and Assessor for Sindh Board of Technical Education Karachi.
Mr. Athar Sultan’s career comprises of 38 years’ experience in British American Tobacco. Expertise in Engineering, Production, Maintenance and Skills Development. He has done international assignments as well with BAT Uzbekistan as Shift Production Manager and Secondary Production Coordinator for 3 years, BAT Bangladesh as Production Engineering Manager for 3.5 years. Having an international exposure of visiting Malaysia, Holland, Singapore and Belgium for Machines Installations and Maintenance Trainings.
